About me

It’s a fantastic privilege to work with people at such significant moments in their lives, and I love my work as a celebrant. I’m a Londoner - now living south of the river but by ancestry a North/East Ender- with my photographer partner*, two ginger cats and occasional visits home from my grown-up children.

I grew up on the Hertfordshire/Essex/Cambridgeshire borders, though have also lived in Liverpool, France and Australia. Interests are reading (my degree was French Literature and Language), music of many genres (though always find it hard to resist a funky bass line), theatre, art galleries and entertaining.

For many years I worked in publishing, the entertainment industry and film, TV and digital production, so the importance of capturing and sharing stories is very close to my heart.

I also have wide experience of event management, so am used to seeing though to successful completion complex projects with lots of different stakeholders and many moving parts.

I speak French fluently, with an understanding of German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, and a little Japanese, and have a linguist’s sensibility, even for languages I don’t speak. I’m experienced in delivering bi-lingual and multi-lingual ceremonies.

I also create and lead humanist funerals, celebrations of life and memorials, and you can see more about what I do here.

*Ironically - I am very camera shy, so you won’t see many selfies of me!
